Great Value! Has Features that HR monitors double the price don't have.

This is a good heart rate monitor, don't let the off brand or jumbled product description fool you. The main feature I like is the percentage of maximum heart rate readout. It also has a Heart Rate Zone Alert (upper and lower limit) that you can set and it will beep if you go above or below your targets. You set the targets in the same menu as you adjust your age, and you can either set the upper and lower target values as a % of max HR or as an actual HR like 150 for low and 180 for high is what I set for mine which works out at 75-90%. You can turn the zone alarm on and off easily so its not beeping at you when your warming up.I haven't owned it that long but it looks well built and functions well, it should hold up well and the batteries in the watch and chest strap are both user replaceable, the strap is your common CR2032 coin cell battery. As a bonus, my newer Star Trac S-TRc treadmill picks up the heart rate radio signal and displays it on the treadmill readout just like as if my hands were on the metal electrode readers, no watch necessary! This is a great feature so I don't have to look down at my watch constantly.To customize your age you go to the heart rate mode and just hold down the Mode button and the first item is your age. You enter your age up or down with the two right buttons (the default is 25) and then it constantly gives you a percentage of your maximum heart rate following the formula 220-age. If you are 40 years old working out at 135bpm you are at 135/180=75% of your maximum heart rate. Research shows that the acute health and cognitive benefits of aerobic exercise are achieved at 75% of maximum HR and above. 5 stars overall and at 25 bucks with free shipping. Let me start off with this, I have used Polar products for the last ten years, recently a FT7 set. One of the reasons I was drawn to Polar is its reputation and labeling on my gym’s fitness equipment “Polar Heart Rate Ready”. Once again I found my polar unit starting to become unreliable, and before I plunked down $85 for another Polar product, I decided to shop the field at Amazon. I have used this product for week and now a can give a first review. The telemetry strap is comparable to older polar products, except this unit has replaceable battery. The equipment at my gym picks up the signal easily. If fact, I think the strength of this product’s signal and sampling rate appears superior to my experience with Polar’s telemetry strap. The watch is stylish, but it is about twice the thickness of the Polar FT7. Surprisingly despite this extra thickness, the watch does not feel heavy or bulky. The display is clear and easy to read, and the buttons large and easy to use. The feature set is not quite as sophisticated as the polar system. One feature that is lacks in workout report that shows the duration of the workout and how much time was spent in each of the cardio zones. This was not critical to me. In real use, I found that if the telemetry strap was communicating with a particular fitness machine, the watch dropped the heart rate signal until I raised the watch to be between the telemetry strap and the machine. The watch picked up the signal very quickly. The included instructions need a little work. The labeling on the watch does not match the instructions labeling. Once I got past that I was ok. One other feature I found annoying was the Cardio workout zone has beep whenever you are outside of your zone. It repeats nearly every 30 seconds until you reach your zone. There was no setup to silence this feature, and I ended up turning off the indicator. An alternate would have been to expand the zone. All in all, for the price I am quite happy. I am giving it 4 out 5, because for the price it cannot be beat.

The chest strap signal is so strong that the treadmills to my right and left also picks it up. Watch doesn't have a problem picking it up either.
